Let's talk about something that comes up quite a lot, the complexity around hotel sales, marketing and PR.
As important as marketing and PR are, as a travel advisor focused business model, we can’t forget that what hoteliers really want to talk about is.....revenue. Everything circles back to this.
That’s where partnerships stand out, when they are grounded in commercial value and this is what the club is focusing on.
The landscape has changed. Influencers and content creators have reshaped how decisions are made. Conversations now include collabs, metrics, engagement, conversions... all of which have their place but they blurred the lines and at times, overcomplicated things.
That’s why I always say: remember what you do. This is your livelihood. You sell travel. You generate revenue, not just for hotels but for yourself and your business.
Marketing and content naturally come with this, but selling comes first.
It’s also why we like to have calls with hotels and advisors. It allows us to talk openly and commercially, not to over-promise or under-deliver, but to make sure both sides understand the end game, sales.
We are not here to undermine what a hotelier wants to know. We are here to reframe the conversation, to remind hotels that when they work with travel advisors, they are working with people whose expertise is in selling.
That’s exactly where your confidence grows: in having those commercial conversations, knowing you bring real, measurable value.
This is another hot topic behind the scenes, Adelle ( The Travel Edit Exclusive ) and I had a call today which once again highlighted firstly why having direct conversations with hoteliers is GOLD and also that influencers and content creators have made things a tiny bit messy for us!
The club is cutting through the noise one fam stay at a time.
